For Life (2002)

“View this film to understand the impact of chronic disease on the lives of individuals and their families. Despite difficulties ranging from divorce to financial hardship and physical disabilities, the people portrayed have struggled to create for themselves a life of hope and a sense of normalcy within the framework of a chronic illness.  – Educational Media Reviews Online

“Touches upon several sensitive areas, including sexuality, fears, and sharing experiences with partners. Highly Recommended.” – Video Librarian

Three years after co-producing the award-winning Stories of Lupus, five of the people originally filmed, are re-visited to explore the day-to-day challenges and gifts that come to living with a chronic illness as it evolves over time.

Since lupus is a chronic illness, how does one live with it for life? And, how does one transcend the disease? In a cinema-verite syle, universal issues including relationships and sex, monetary burdens, public misconceptions and integrative medicine are investigated through the eyes of those living with lupus and their families.

It has aired on television in Quebec, UK, Holland and Nigeria as well as distributed to teaching hospitals in Israel.

In 2005, Fanlight Productions began distributing STORIES OF LUPUS and FOR LIFE to medical universities and public libraries across the US.
