As a silly little 12 year old, I met and became best friends with Sharon’s son Makana. He and I would spend countless hours at his house hanging out. Sharon, in and out of the living room, preparing classes, doing her research, was always an inspiration to me. In fact, she was one of the reasons I myself became a professor. Seeing her rememberd in this way, understanding more about how she faced this illness, is a wonderful gift to me, and, I know, to Makana as well. Thank you.
I am crying…it is near Sharon’s 6th year of having left us all.
